Picture of the Day: Homage #3
This is a digital version of a photo that I took for the Homage assignment in my Photo 2 class. We basically had to model after a photographer. I chose to do my assignment on Helmut Newton, who was a fashion photographer. I had to pick 10 of his images, and then do 10 of my own, inspired by each photo. This was my third one. I made this one a lil less intense than his original. Here is the original Helmut Newton photo I based this from:

I don't think my rendering of the photo is the best, but I don't think its tooooo bad. ha. Mine needs to be more sexual!

Picture of the Day: 32/23
This is a photo that I accidentally took while trying to position the camera for another shot. I actually really like this though. Its imperfect, but kind of beautiful. It also reminds me of all of the great talks and fun times I've had in the car, and driving to college, with my best friend.

Picture of the Day: Gutenberg
This is a sweet photo I took of the horse my friend Chelsea made me!
I have this whole thing about naming things, so I named him Gutenberg, after the Gutenberg Printing Press.
I especially love how I put the Arabian Nights book under the horse.

Picture of the Day: Malleable
This photo is a digital version of a photo that I took for my Word to Image assignment in my Photography 2 class. One of the words I picked was malleable, which basically means easy formed or molded. My inspiration for this idea was a quote from the book The Five People You Meet in Heaven.
“All parents damage their children. It cannot be helped. Youth, like pristine glass, absorbs the prints of its handlers. Some parents smudge, others crack, a few shatter childhoods completely into jagged little pieces, beyond repair.”
I tried to illustrate the idea that children are like glass, they absorb everything. That's how they are malleable. They are easy formed and molded by the people around them.
Sadly I didn't get to make print of this one from my negative because I had a major light leak. ULLGGG!

Picture of the Day: Chelsea's Boots
This is kind of a candid photo that I took while working on my Word to Image project(we had to pick a word and translate it to an image) with my friends Chelsea, n Sara.
I know the lighting isn't the best on this, but I still like it.

Picture of the Day: Library
This is a digital version of a photo I had to take for our first project in Photography 2. It was a scavenger hunt, and one of the things we had to take a photo of was books. So I went down to my hometown library & they were so kind as to let me take some photo's there.
Those library ladies are the best!

This week I'm on break! Woohoo!
This week I'm on break! Woohoo!
I still have to get my presentation, and photo projects done though, so really, its not that much of a break. haha.
I'll get through somehow!
;)
Anywho.
I just wanted to share a few of the photo's I've taken lately, so I'm going to reinstate Picture of the Day!!
:)
I'll try to keep up with it, I prizomise!
Here's the first one:
This photo was taken while I was doing some photo's for my friend Greg (who makes AWESOME music btw).
I know its a bit overdone, but I have a small weakness for railroad tracks/photo's.

Arts Festin' It Up
Yesterday was the kick off of the Southern Hills Arts Festival at Canters Cave. I entered some pictures in it, so naturally Sara and I went to the reception.
(Really, I only went for the AMAZING chicken salad sandwiches, and meatballs, fo sho)
They had a lot of sweet on art on display (even though my photos are obviously the best)
If you happen to be in Jackson this weekend, you should stop by!!
Here are a few pics from the show(excuse the bad quality):
Sara and I enjoy taking pics of ourselves. haha.
The last pic is before Sara really bent down to my level. Im so short. haha.
Oh, and our clothes were wet thanks to the pouring rain.
:(
Loved these photos!
